Wow, I'm so fasinated with your art. Extremely impressed. I now see art and understand you more so than ever. I thought you were just a beginner and to find out that you are more than that. Love your charcoal prints. Lovely.
So, in the world of "andi", how does one go about the daily task of being free. "Free" meaning "the love of art". Are you, someday, planning on show casing your beautiful things.
As for me, I've been working in the Burlingame store since October. Going back to Napa the beginning of January. It's great to be back here in Burlingame. I get to see my sisters who still live in the area and see all my friends here. But I do miss the girls in Napa. Can't wait to go back.
Anyway, glad to hear that you're doing good and continue to show your art. I would truly love to see them
Thanks so much for your comments. I feel partial to the charcoals too. Yeah, my ***** days were all about corporate blue. Not too many other colors entered the spectrum.
These days I'm very busy. I've got several projects going right now that involve school, prospective work and other projects. This week, I'm working on 4 paintings, 2 posters, a website, business cards. I'm thinking about my application to OTIS College of Art and Design that I will likely submit next weekend. There is an open house at the campus today that I plan to attend. Next weekend I also have to look into financial aid.
I'm applying for Spring, but not anticipating starting at OTIS until next fall, at least. This is primarily so that I have enough time to get financial aid together. My Plan B is to continue at Santa Monica College through the Winter, Spring & Summer while taking graphic design projects (web, marketing, stationary, etc.) probably from a local art agency to generate income.
I'm considering getting my Graphic Design Certificate from SMC and my degree in fine art (painting) from OTIS.
While in school, I'm working on my portfolio/collection, which I will need in order to be represented by a gallery. In order to promote that process, I also have to go to as many art events, like gallery openings, studio openings, parties and museums as possible. Like accounting and business, it's all about networking. Which is also why the website is helpful.
The biggest change is the pace. Multi-tasking is not as effective. Working until you are fatigued doesn't really work either. You end up with a muddled mess of color and line because your hand is stops working. It's like a translator slurring her words.
So that's most of what I'm doing now. It's nice that you were able to go back to Burlingame for awhile. It must have been refreshing to go "home". How is your son doing?
